Birch Plywood Table Box – Part II

December 8th, 2016

Our birch plywood table box is coming along nicely, as we have been working on our pieces to give them a distressed look.  An easy way to do this is to use a hammer to tap the edges of the pieces and then place the pieces on top of some nails or screws on the floor.  Stand on the pieces and gently move your feet; this will create indentions on the pieces.  Once you have achieved the desired worn look, use a soft cloth to apply stain.  Be generous with the stain, making sure it gets down into the crevices you’ve created on each piece.  This will give the wood a beautiful distressed look.  See the below pictures of the progress.

Check back next week to see the completed project and how we chose to fill our birch plywood table box with festive items for the holiday season.
