PATRIOT TIMBER PRODUCTS RECEIVES THE EXCLUSIVE LICENSE FOR THE US TRADE PATENT COVERING REVOLUTIONPLY® PLYWOOD AND IRONPLY® PLYWOOD.

(April 11, 2013. Greensboro, NC) Patriot Timber Products, Inc. announced today the issuance of the first patent in an expected series of patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office on some of its most successful product lines. U.S. Patent No. 8,414,996 was issued on April 9, 2013, and covers Patriot Timber’s RevolutionPly® and IronPly® plywood panels. Patriot Timber Products, Inc. is an exclusive licensee of this patent.

U.S. Patent No. 8,414,996 is entitled “Sustainable Simulated Commodity Tropical Hardwood Panel,” and covers plywood panels with an engineered face veneer as claimed and described in the patent. The product is a departure from the tradition of using tropical hardwoods to make a Lauan-type panel. Instead, every piece of RevolutionPly® and IronPly® plywood is made from plantation and sustainable woods and is consistent from sheet to sheet in appearance.
